Heirsale is an independent software product for estate sale companies. This website publishes guides on commissions, settlements, permits and pricing; the app itself lives at app.heirsale.com.
Who is behind Heirsale
Heirsale is built and published independently. It is not an estate sale company, an auction house, a listing site or a law firm, and no company pays to appear in our guides. You can reach the people behind it at contact@heirsale.com.
Why it exists
Estate sale companies already pay to advertise their sales, but the work inside the house and after the sale is often done on paper tags, a cash box and a spreadsheet. The settlement statement, the document a family settling an estate relies on, is usually the hardest part to get right. Heirsale exists to make every total on that statement traceable to a sale.
How we write and check guides
- Written for companies. Our guides are written for the people who run estate sales. Families are welcome to read them, and the commission and settlement pages explain the numbers plainly.
- Sourced and dated figures. Commission ranges, fees and prices come from named sources, each with the date we checked it. We do not invent or estimate figures.
- Worked examples. Commission and settlement guides include an example with the full arithmetic, so you can check it line by line.
- Rules from the authority. Permit and sales-tax pages link to the city, county or state source and say when it was checked. Where few cities have rules, we cover the state instead of publishing thin city pages.
- No AI appraisals. Pricing guides explain how companies price a category and mark it down; they do not offer appraisals or valuations.
- Corrections. If you find an error or an outdated figure, email us with the page and your source. We check it and update the page.
